Olympic Man Candy: Tom Daley

At some point today, you will hear about the Olympics. It will probably be at least once every 30 minutes, and there will probably be talk about how bad the traffic and tubes were in London this morning (or how quiet it was!).

Then, you will probably start hearing the women and guys talk about who looked good last night in the swimming, who was pretty, who was not. Who won, who failed, before the attention turns to today. 2:55pm. BBC One. The Aquatic Centre.

Tom Daley.

One of the main guys featured in the Olympic Man Candy post from last week will be cracking out the speedos, diving from a 10m board, and hoping for a gold medal.

For now... Here is a little something to get you through to this afternoon. Enjoy!

Okay, so maybe I overdid it with the pictures. Hopefully that will keep you all going until the live event this afternoon.

Tune in on BBC One at 2:55pm, iPlayer, Radio 5 Live, or on the BBC London 2012 website. Scream, drool, shout, cheer, and keep those fingers crossed that he comes away with a gold medal!

Good luck!

Thursday

Olympic Man Candy

We all know what is about to happen in the UK. We have seen the signs, heard Boris on the tube, and watched the Ab Fab special, and now it is here.

The Olympics. You know, that big hoo-haa with about 10,500 athletes from 205 nations running, swimming, cycling, sweating, cussing and cheering through events that are taking over London. All trying to win that gold medal, and not settling for silver or bronze.

So now we have it, two weeks of sport and hectic rides to wherever we want to be. Whilst we may be getting stressed on the tubes in the morning, or moaning about the Olympic lanes, or trying to help tourists go in the right direction, there is one thing to remember. Ladies and Gays, its all about...

The eye candy.

Whilst some people may not be interested in the sport, you can definately show interest in who is taking part. This is two weeks where we can get excited and drool at our TV screens at some of the hottest sport stars on the planet. Sculpted bodies, sportswear, adreneline and pretty faces, this is two weeks of free eye candy, and here are some of the highlights of who you can stare at!

Anthony Ogogo. UK

[caption id="attachment_1221" align="aligncenter" width="580"] Taking a pounding from him wouldn't be so bad![/caption]

Sport: Boxing

Drool factor: 'Someone get some tissue.'

Apparently his nickname is 'Beautiful Brown Suga' which would fit nicely for this boxer. You can find him punching his way through the rounds from Saturday the 28th July at the ExCel centre.

Jesse Williams. USA

[caption id="attachment_1222" align="aligncenter" width="580"] How high can he get?[/caption]

Sport: Athletics, High Jump

Drool Factor: 'Careful not to get it on his lycra shorts.'

Being one of the best high jumpers in the world, you know you want to watch him bend over backwards in mid-air, then watching him scream adrenelin after he lands. Watch out for the vein-popping muscles on 5th August.

Phillip Boy. Germany

[caption id="attachment_1224" align="aligncenter" width="450"] Army Boy Phillip[/caption]

Sport: Artistic Gymnastics

Drool Factor: 'Someone pass a few more tissues.'

Not only is this guy a gymnast, he is also in the Army, and his mum sent him to gymnastics to use up excessive energy. Sergent Boy will be on your screens, taking up multiple positions, from 28th July.

Oscar. Brazil

[caption id="attachment_1229" align="aligncenter" width="580"] Oh Hello Boys[/caption]

Sport: Football

Drool Factor: 'He can dribble anyday!'

Oscar. That's it. Just Oscar. This one name man will be playing keepy-uppie with the other Brazillians from the 28th July, practicing his ball skills and hopefully hitting the back of the net!

James Magnussen. Australia

[caption id="attachment_1232" align="aligncenter" width="580"] Anyone fancy skinny dipping?[/caption]

Sport: Swimming 50m and 100m Freestyle

Drool Factor: 'Anyone for some skinny dipping?'

Australia have sent over some pretty fine swimmers, most notably Mr Magnussen here. He is a lover of bodyboarding, and is nicknamed The Missile. He will be swimming his way to a medal from July 31st.

Ryan Lochte. USA

[caption id="attachment_1233" align="aligncenter" width="480"] Slighty condom-head[/caption]

Sport: Swimming 200m and 400m.

Drool Factor: 'Get me in the pool, right now.'

Not to be outdone by Australia, the USA sends us Ryan Lochte. This muscular swimmer may not be competing in the same swimming events, but put these two in the pool and you would be stuck for choice. You can drool over him from the 1st August.

Kenrick Monk. Australia

[caption id="attachment_1235" align="aligncenter" width="580"] Someone pass something cold to cool me down[/caption]

Sport: Swimming 200m.

Drool Factor: 'Screw the last two, this one is the winner.'

See, there are loads of eye candy in the pool this year. Just when you think America may have topped the Aussies, the Aussies come back with this bit of pleasure. You need to tune into the tv on the 29th July to see that body. It puts others to shame

Mark Cavendish. Great Britain

[caption id="attachment_1238" align="aligncenter" width="386"] Gayface or a pretty face?[/caption]

Sport: Cycling

Drool Factor: 'Still thinking about those swimmers... Sorry'

Mark Cavendish, one of Englands best chances for a medal, has a slight gayface about him. Sure he is hot, has a wife and kids, and will be wearing the lycra, but that just makes you want to cheer him on more. He will be hitting our streets on July 28th. Get the gay flags out, he may just turn fot you.

Fabian Kauter. Switzerland

[caption id="attachment_1242" align="aligncenter" width="580"] Where is his sword ay?[/caption]

Sport: Fencing

Drool Factor: 'Two boxes of tissues later, and I need some more!'

One guy, one sword. Meet Fabian, Switzerlands entry for the fencing competition. Not shy of a few photos, this guy wants to be the best (and best looking) whilst looking like a sword-holding sperm. That cute, boyish face can be seen on TV on 1st August. He may well be a lover of meat balls too.

Tom Daley. Great Britain

[caption id="attachment_1245" align="aligncenter" width="580"] *speechless*[/caption]

Sport: Diving

Drool Factor: 'Over-drooling, can't control it, not enough tissues.'

Tom Daley. The diver who makes girls scream, guys want that body, and gays want him (he is legal). You can't have a man candy list without this champion on it, and you know you will be tuning into the TV to see him pull all different kinds of positions from a 10m board. Who is his partner again? Who cares! He will be on the box on 30th July, and 10th August. DOUBLE WHAMMY.

So there we have it. There are soooo many athletes taking part that you are going to be flooded with eye candy, but hopefully these few pics will warm you up for the events.

All we need now is some gold medals for Team GB, and you to comment below on who you think is best of the bunch.

Monday

Sunny Sunday

With the sun finnnalllyyyyy making a long-awaited appearence, me and a few of my friends made it down to Clapham Common on Sunday for some much-needed tanning.

Ok, maybe not 'much-needed,' but you know what I mean. Top up the tan session!

Packing the free cool bags with tanning lotion (and oil!), music, magazines and blankets, we hopped onto the Northern It's-A-Mobile-Sauna line and arrived to find the common completely rammed of sun worshippers. Nursing a slight hangover from the night before, we set about trying to find the perfect spot. You know how it is, looking for a little while and hesitating where to sit.

It's all about the broken sunnies. The calculator, not so much.

From football games, to sing-a-longs, to pizza deliveries, Clapham Common has it all. It is like being in the countryside, in the middle of the big smoke. We found a spot that wasn't too busy, but enough for us to keep an eye on the people walking by!

A bit of sunshine eye candy is always a good thing!

The cutest dog, doing the cutest walk.

There is always time for ice cream!

After a good while of tanning, people watching and gossiping, we took our tanned and burnt skin for a wander through Clapham high street, stopping for a drink in a couple of the bars, before stagging back home later that evening. Thankfully, Tesco Express sold aftersun so I could cool my skin down before heading back to work.

If you fancy going down to the common, then hop on the Northern line south (remember to change at Kennington is you are coming from Charing Cross branch), and then head out of the station. You really can't miss it, and with a range of bars and pubs such as Kazbar and Two Brewers, you can continue into the evening.

The Miko Spinelli Jacket

You know the feeling just as much as the person standing next to you when looking for something specific.

Walking round the same store, looking at the same items, and still not being able to find something that you like. Eager to spend the money for once, yet you can't find what you want.

Then you move onto the next store, to repeat eactly what you just did in the last, and walk out empty handed whilst getting annoying that 'none of these bloody stores have what I want.'

Then, you find yourself back at home, trailing through the internet trying to find the same item. Again, nothing stands out. Frustrating is an understatement.

For me, one of the items I have been trying to find for a while is a decent Bomber jacket. You know, those jackets that were all the range back in the late 90's, and have now come full circle and back on the must-have list for 2012. I have searched high and low and whilst there are some cool ones around the high streets, nothing has really stood out to me.

Until now that is.

I was introduced to the new premium collection from Miko Spinelli through a friend, and immeadiately fell in LOVE with it. Think 'Italian fashion meets your grandmas porcelain china tea pot' and you have a collection that is eye catchingly good.

I know right, those patterns didn't seem so cool when you visited the grandparents. On these jackets however, they look absolutely amazing. The delicate patterns contrast with the panelling and metal zips, whilst you can feel sporty with the cuffs and waistbands. Throw on one of the flat caps that use the same pattern and embroidery, and you are definately onto a winner.

Personally, I wouldn't wear both the jacket and hat at the same time, but each of them individually can be added to make up an outfit.

So far, this eagerly awaited collection has gained some pretty impressive reviews, and I can see why. With only a handful of each jacket being made, it is definately a moment to grab something unique. His website (found here) showcases the currently SS12 collection too, and whilst the prices are a little higher than your Topman or River Island equivilents, its the quality and designs that make it worth the money.

Whilst bomber jackets may go out of fashion next year, you know they will come back round again like it has with the 90's.

Plus, you are saving your energy by not having to walk around the high street in search of something that stands out. Another winner!

Lanzarote. By Instagram

So whilst the majority of London was celebrating World Pride, I hopped onto a plane for a short get away to Lanzarote.  If you don't know, its a small volcanic island in the Canaries, about 60 miles from Africa. It's a 4 hour flight from the UK, and part of Spain so be ready to say Hola! to everyone you meet.

Touching down at the airport, the 35 degrees of sunshine hit me quicker than 15 shots of vodka. Perfect, just like a sweaty night in Heaven, minus the loud music and sweaty bodies. iPod in, sunglasses on, I made my way to the apartment in Puerto Del Carmen to meet the family who flew out a few days earlier. This is one of the busiest resorts on the island, which has an amazing beach and decent nightlife.

One of the places to visit is Timanfaya National Park, which is where you can get up close with a volcano and watch the steam jet up from below. What's more, the heat from the volcano below is that hot that they cook BBQs from it.

IT. IS. AMAZING.

I came out here a few weeks ago too, but with such rubbish weather I decided it wasn't photo worthy. I came back with no tan, which wasn't acceptable, so this time I was determined to be brown. I have lost count of how many times I have been here, and even turned to calling it LanzaGrotey, so I was hoping it could redeem itself this time.

Luckily it did, so with my phone in my hand I got snap happy with Instagram, and starting taking looooooads of pictures. From sunbathing to volcanic steam BBQ's, and the Wimbledon match thrown in too, it was a great getaway. Instead of the general Facebook album, I thought I would share them with you on here! Don't forget to follow me!

Bye now England

Coming into land. Hello Lanzarote

Day 2, and the picture doesn't do the mountains justice!

Pool Day. Sunglasses on. And a glass of...
...Banana Liquor. This, mixed with lemonade, is the most refreshing drink to have. It's tasty, and a 70cl bottle is only 4 Euros!

Poolside Bevvy

Just catching a few rays, as you do.

Cooling the toes off!

The red top matched my skin. No pain no Gain!

Practicing my Ball skills.

Day 3, and a visit to Tamanfaya. A big jet of steam from the Volcanoes underneath made the crowd jump.

I felt a lttle unsafe stood on top of an active volcano. Oh well, anyone for some volcano chicken?

Tanning and the Murray match... Perfect :D

They hand to drag me from these steps to the airport. :(

Aloe Vera Cream
This is a saviour, and somehow I was able to take in my hand luggage!

Lanzarote was perfect for a few nights away from the hustle and bustle of London life. I chose a realllyyy early morning flight out from Gatwick, and a reaaallly late flight back so I could have a full four days out there. Flights are not expensive, and sites like Monarch, Easyjet and Thomas Cook can sort you out. Plus, I only took hand luggage which kept the cost down and got me through the airport quicker!

In the mean time, I am off to find another holiday and aftersun a bit more :)

Addios!
