Constant training brings constant eating with it, and the urge to eat everything that is around me! Plus, it is easy to fall into the mindset of 'I can eat anything because I burn so much' when you head out to dinner, when really your erasing the good work you did earlier on!
I am always wishing that every food is good for you.
Though this menu at Tramshed looks pretty good, doesn't it?
Chicken?
Or steak?
Take your pick. Both are packed full of protein and good for you.
Whilst your thinking about it, I will show you why Tramshed is known as a place to go in London.
It has this huge Damien Hirst art piece, right in the centre.
Which, fittingly, contains a full size cow and chicken in a water tank.
It was added to the Mark Hix restaurant, Tramshed.
With stomachs rumbling, we sat down and grabbed some drinks whilst we waited for the birthday boy to arrive.
Still debating steak or chicken? Me too!
What doesn't help is the constant flow of dishes running past the table. Ooo and arrrhhss and 'Can we have both' filled the table, until Gareth finally arrived.
In true fashion, he was not late. We were just early. Apparently.
Who immediately made a beeline for the menu whilst we drank away to fill our hungry stomachs.
Not that it is too hard, chicken or steak?
Cue a surprised birthday boy...
A little high five to us, a few other presents from around the table and it was time for the food.
You could hear everyones stomach's rumble, ready to tuck in.
Made your decision? I went for the whole chicken to share.
The chicken comes out with the feet still attached, so you have the pleasure of watching the chef cut them away.
It's that little bit more of a tease, but you are left with this beaut of a dish.
Crispy skin, and stuffing in the centre, surrounded by chips.
Carbicide I know, but it is truly worth it along with all the sides.
As much as the chicken looks amazing, where is the steak?!
I present to you, the Porterhouse steak.
The big boy of all steaks. A monster slab of meat, readily sliced and cooked to perfection.
Excuse me whilst I indulge in this for a moment.
The camera went away whilst we ate every last bit of food on the table.
The food looked great, and it tasted even better. The steak packed loads of flavor, and the chicken was mouth wateringly good.
Fit to burst, we had one more little surprise up our sleeves for Gareth...
A little sing song and birthday cake.
As much as I love eating out, and as much as I like chocolate cake, I passed on a slice whilst everyone else tucked in.
Cheat day isn't for another couple of days, but it looked nice and everyone said they enjoyed it. You will have to try the dessert and let me know if you go - You can find out more about Tramshed here.
I'm off out for another training session now, and all I can think about is that food!
Is there anywhere I should try? Maybe a cheat day food feast? Tweet me or let me know below!
