Casa Roja

We are back at the airport this morning with his and hers sombreros and maracas, and la Isla bonita playing from our small speaker.

Saturday

Steak and Sparklers

After those beach sprints and topping up the tan all day, it was time for another dinner.

A lot of restaurants along the sea front in any holiday resort have people outside begging you to come in with a 'ThisIsWhatWeHaveTonightAndIWillTalkAsFastAsICanIn10Seconds' monologue, and some of them are really nice places to eat too.

A few years ago, Mum and Dad found this local spanish restaurant one evening when wandering towards the old port. There wasn't a a huge open front with tables showing, just a door with a name above it.

They took the plunge and went in to see what it had to offer.

Wireless Festival

Wireless Festival is one of the biggest festivals in the UK. Over the course of three days, some of the worlds biggest music acts are spread across different stages at the Olympic Park.

To get everyone excited for the weekend, the festival organisers held a launch party at The Mayfair Hotel a couple of weeks beforehand. With a few of the artists gracing the miniature stage, it was a chance to find out which acts everyone was excited for whilst having drinks and canapes.

A couple of weeks later, me and a few girlfriends made our way across to the Olympic Park. Nearly a year after those monumental moments, we found ourselves walking alongside the now-empty Olympic stadium towards the newly crowned 'Queen Elizabeth Park.'  It was the most surreal moment. I could see the track through the fencing where Super Saturday happened, with only a few marshals patrolling the perimeter.

I would be lying if I said I didn't try to work out a way to get in there!

Once we were in we got our bearings and checked who was playing which stage at what time, so we knew where to dance throughout the day, before heading over to the VIP Nation area to hydrate after our tube-sauna of a journey! With a BBQ on the go all day, and a trip to the bar for a cider or Pimms, this was the perfect chill out area in between the acts whilst also bumping into a few friends!

Once we were full of BBQ food and a few drinks down, we headed out to the main stage. With Jay Z, Rita Ora, Justin Timberlake, Macklemore, Calvin Harris, Miguel, Kendrick Lemar, Iggy Azelia, Emile Sande and loads more acts playing, the line-up was the best among the big festivals for 2013. With surprise acts joining others on stage for collaborations, it was a day where it didn't matter if you were at the Main Stage or one of the other stages... there was a constant party which didn't want to stop!

My last pint of cider ran out just as Jay-Z finished his encore with JT, so with that perfect timing we headed to the tube station to relax after a party-jumping, sun-shining day at the park.

This was my first time to Wireless, as it was held in Hyde Park last year, but this had to be one of the best festivals I had been to in a long time. The highlights of the day had to be Jay-Z, Calvin Harris and Macklemore. A pimms in hand, the sun shining, and on the same site where the Olympics were held...

Of course it was going to be something special!

Did you go too?

The L'Oreal Photoshoot

For me, good hair is an absolute must on anyone... It is such an important part of someones image and it is on my miniature check list when I go on a date with a guy! You all know what I mean, that little list which probably contains good shoes, nice teeth, and all those other little things that we check within a nanosecond of greeting them.

Fortunately, Gareth is one of my closest friends and a fantastic hairdresser. He is part of the Headmasters team at their flagship salon in Mayfair, and happens to be the go-to person for the celebs and fashionistas, done so many photo shoots for magazines and featured in them too, and knows hair better than anyone else. He is always tweeting away, so you should definitely follow him.

With my hair growing at a rapid rate, I am always wandering in to see if I can grab an appointment with him and a gossip.

With an photoshoot coming up, Gareth asked me to be his model for an upcoming Headmasters and L'Oreal shoot, and lend my fast-growing locks to his creative hands. I have done a few shoots in the past for other people, and of course jumped at the chance! So a couple of Sundays ago, with the snow falling down in a blizzard like style, I found myself on an industrial estate in Esher...

It was freezing.

With a hot cup of tea in hand, the hairdryers on the highest temperature and multiple layers on, the team started to work away on their models to create their looks...

I absolutely loved the way Gareth styled my hair, and have been doing it that way since! All of the products that were used were L'Oreal, and the styling was by Aaron (follow him here), who happens to also be a hairdresser and stylist too.

Once hair and make-up was done, we all started to take center stage for our shots...

The photographer, Lefteris, is fantastic and I have seen some of his work before, so I was beyond excited to see how the photos would turn out!

Finally, it came round to my moment in front of the lens.

Like Miss Moss says... "When you're shooting... You think about how you should stand in these particular clothes, or how you should move. You think about the different characters you're playing, really."

You have to excuse the quality of the pics, my iPhone camera wasn't up to the standard of the one Lefteris was using!

With a few more flashes, and revisiting angles I had done earlier on, we were done. We had got the shots and everyone was pretty excited with them. I managed to sneak a peak and was really happy with how they turned out .

All I had to do now was adopt that jacket I was wearing. I adored it and it fitted me so, so well. It was a perfect match.

I failed miserably.

For the moment, I can't share the pictures just yet. They will be released soon and I can post them for you all to see. Until then, if you are looking for a change of salon or fancy something new, then go over to Headmasters and speak to the guys and girls there. You can always call them on 0345 459 7719 to book an appointment, or check out their website.

The Winter Coat

Every morning throughout the winter I wake up and hide under my duvet, hiding away from the cold outside until the last minute before I fall into the 'running late' state.

You know exactly what I mean. The cold apartment because you forgot to put the heating on, or jumping out of a hot shower into what feels like a freezing bathroom. The winter mornings just make you want to stay in bed.

If I could stay wrapped in my duvet, I would.

Instead, I have to settle for the next best thing, my winter coat. (Or coats, for different occasions). My portable duvet that, mixed with co-ordinating hat, gloves and scarf, keeps me warm on these cold winter days. Since I posted a picture on my Instagram and Twitter, (follow my Instagram, and my Twitter here) I have had people asking me where I got mine from.

It may not be a duvet, but it is the next best thing, and there is still time to grab one of these winter warmers for yourself!

1. The All Saints Maddox coat

Winter Coat

If I said All Saints Coat to you, then you would probably think metal studs and skulls on a ill-shaped piece of clothing. But, this is quite the opposite, with them creating this classic black coat with their signature look for £225.00.

2. The Topman Camel Wool Trench

Winter Coat

Trench coats are a timeless piece that always look great with your outfit. This season, I have opted for a grey one, but a light colour like this one from Topman for £90 is a great long term investment.

Like any trench, you can wear it open or closed and they still look great.

3. The Jack Wills Duffel

Jack Wills

Duffel coats are a wardrobes best friend this winter, and Jack Wills have created this little gem to keep you warm. You don't need to be an Oxford or Cambridge student to wear this, and surprisingly it's only £129.

4. The Zara Trench

zara coat

I have fallen in love with this coat from Zara for £139. Yes, it screams out campness, but if you wear it with the right outfit then you are sure to stand out for all the right reasons. You can match it with a woolen scarf to add that extra warmth, and leather sleeve is a trend that is starting to catch on!

5. River Islands Buckle Style Jacket

river island mens coat

If a trench is not what you are after, then head to River Island who have this navy, buckle style jacket. I love a jacket with big pockets, so I can store all my accessories when I ain't wearing them. Fortunately, this £65 gem comes with just that!

6. Peregrine Woodford Wax Jacket.

Winter Coat

You may have remembered my little visit to Peregrine back in June to preview their winter collection, and how I fell head over heels for this jacket, and the model too. The quality was amazing, and I could happily justify the £249 price tag for this. I'm bucking the Barbour trend with this one, and so should you!

7. The Scotch and Soda Duffel

Winter Coat

Another duffel, a different colour. There are so many different varient and style of duffel, but the trick is to stick to the traditional duffel. It looks just as glam, and Scotch and Soda have this one on sale for £200.

8. Fly53 Jacket

Mens Jacket

This coat screams Little Red Riding Hood... but for men. Throw on this £100 jacket, a pair of gloves and your ear muffs, and head out into the winter prepared and warm!

9. The Parker

Parker

Everyone loves a parker jacket. They are big, warm, and if you get the right one it is an extension of your duvet! Asos (I know, right!) have made their version available online for a mere £80. Plus, it is as comfy and warm as sitting by the fire!

10. My Jacket

Zara Coat

Last, but not least, is the coat I have had everyone asking me about. This picture does not do it justice, but this Zara piece is exactly what a country boy needed this winter, alongside my other purchases. So much so that I cant seem to stop wearing it!

Winter Coat

With any of these coats, throw together some matching gloves, hats and scarfs and you will find that getting out of bed isn't so bad in the morning.

Are there any others that I should have included?

Tuesday

Pam Hogg. London Fashion Week

For the gay guys and straight women, you can stare at the fashion and pretty men around the room.

For the straight guys and gay women, you can stare at the women and their immaculate figures. Oh, and the odd boob too.

For the majority of last night, I was flashing away on my Blackberry to catch shots of the latest collection from Pam Hogg for SS13. London Fashion Week is upon us. Another week of models strutting their stuff, designers showcasing the latest collections, and celebrities battling for FROW seats.

Pam Hogg was no exception last night. From Jaime Winstone to Alfie Allen, to Kate Nash and Nick Cave, this show was full to the rafters with many people turned away, and the reason was obvious. The collection was utterly different and flawless, especially with the model Alice Dellal taking to the catwalk for this too.

The camers are set.

Entitles 'Save Our Souls', the show opened like a minture concert. A model, cladded as a nurse, made her way down the catwalk whilst the music began to fill the air. As the lights came up, the collection of spandex inspired bodysuits floated down the floor. The theme of souls continued, with the models portraying a bewildered, lost-soul persona as they flaunted the collection.

Whilst these looked breathtakingly fantastic (and you know Jessie J will probably crack a few of them out), it wasn't until the wedding inspired dresses took to the runway that the room really applauded Hogg's work. Backless dresses, Queen Elizabeth inspired head pieces, this was my highlight of the show. It was more a case of what the models wasn't wearing, but the pieces were amazing. Although there may be a few eyebrows raised in the church should someone wear them to their wedding.

Oh, and straight guys, this is when you really would have wanted to pay attention.

With the final walk of honour from the models, the entire crowd rose to a standing applause as the designer made her way down the catwalk. The lights came back up, and we made our way out of venue, discussing the collection we had just seen.

Oh, a quick pose outside the venue before heading out to dinner.
