My dinner date got a little excited about this with an ohmygawd face, and approached with no caution expecting lions and witches on the other side.
She was quickly disappointed to find out there wasn't a world of Narnia on the other side.
But then quickly made up when we found the perfect combo any hungry people could hope for! And I was starving, having dashed from training not wanting to keep a lady waiting!
Beef, Bar and Beer. The perfect three-way combo thanks to Honky Tonk in Clapham.
They have a place over in Chelsea which opened last year, and then headed south of the river to give Clapham it's own version of American style burgers.
You have to follow the house rules seriously though!
I better put my lightsaber back in the bag!
There might not have been any beasts behind the wardrobe, but there were two carnivores ready to devour everything that was put in front of them!
Take a cripsy potato skin, with the lightest and softest potato on the inside. Then, add mild chilli con carne on the top to tick the meat box, followed by hand grated cheese and grilled to the point of melted-perfection.
Need I say anymore?
Starters are never enough, so our faces lit up when the mains came out.
Rule #9. Wear a hat.
Liv's pretty dress is Out of Stock, but here is a very similar one.
My rule-abiding hat is from Asos (Similar here), top is from here, and jeans from here.
My date went for the Honky Tonk burger. Fully loaded with cheese, bacon, caramalised onions and all the extras you can image.
I went for the pulled pork burger, which I will let the mouth watering image speak for itself on how good it was!
Blink and it's gone.
There are so many burger and American-style restaurants in and around London now. The sudden boom and obsession with juicy beef in a bun means I am having to work out more than ever to counter-act the amount I am eating.
Safe to say the bowl of melted chocolate was empty by the time we were finished with it.
For all you book lovers out there, you will love how the bill arrives...
Maybe not the best book for a guy to read, but at least I tried!
Our time in Clapham's version of Narnia was up, but there was one final thing we had to do before we went through the wardrobe again.
Wheel of Fortune!
Even when you lose, smile and walk away with your head held high!
A trip to Narnia, wheel of fortune, and amazing burgers. What more could you want? The website?
